Job Description
Our client in Port-Harcourt is seeking an experienced cook must be able to follow instructions in cooking and deliver well – prepared meals. He/she must be adept at moving around the kitchen and apt in multi- tasking. The ideal candidates are required to have experience in using various ingredients and cooking techniques.
Responsibilities:
• Meal preparation
• Prepare meals according to dietary needs
• Follow recipes, including measuring, weighing and mixing ingredients.
• Bake, grill, steam and boil meats, vegetables, fish and poultry and other foods as requested
• Present, garnish and arrange final dishes
• Maintain a clean and safe work area, including handling of utensils, equipment and dishes
• Handle, store and manage ingredients and food
• Ensure ingredients are fresh
• Manage food inventory, ordering supplies, and minimizing waste.
• Maintain food safety and sanitation standards
• Be willing to learn new recipes
• Monitor and manage stock
• Always wear assigned uniform
• Perform ad hoc duties that may be assigned.
Requirements:
• 2+ years of experience as a professional cook
• Culinary certification is a plus
• In-depth knowledge of various cuisines, cooking techniques.
