Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Accountant to join our finance team. As an Accountant, you will be responsible for overseeing the company’s financial operations, ensuring compliance with accounting principles and standards, and providing strategic financial advice to the management team. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a deep understanding of financial regulations and reporting requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly financial reports, ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines.
- Update monthly reports and ensure their accuracy and completeness.
- Perform data entry and posting of daily activities, maintaining accuracy and completeness.
- Conduct business data analytics to identify trends, patterns, and insights.
- Prepare bank reconciliation statements, ensuring accuracy and resolving discrepancies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather relevant financial information and support decision-making.
- Assist with ad hoc financial projects and provide support as directed.
- Adhere to established financial policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Maintain confidentiality and security of financial data and records.
- Stay updated with industry regulations and best practices in accounting and finance.
Qualifications
- B.Sc in Accounting/Finance.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as an Accountant
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and MS Excel.
- Solid understanding of Nigerian accounting standards and tax regulations.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- High level of integrity and ethical standards.
